TCPC is an organization formed by people from the greater Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota area.  We enjoy the hobby of postcard collecting, trading and generally learning more about the hobby from each other.  We welcome everyone to join regardless of geographic location and we do have members who live distances and even out of state.

This site is intended to serve the members of TPCP and will be used to educate and inform those interested in the hobby called Deltiology.

Unlike many other hobbies, the hobby of collecting postcards knows no season and the topics of collecting are endless.  We can enjoy the hobby anytime of the year and do meet monthly.  We, as a club, have been meeting since 1976 and would like you to consider joining us.  See the membership section for details.

Deltiologists, as postcard collectors are called, collect for a variety of reasons.  Some are attracted to the postcards themselves because the artistry or quality of the image.  Many start collecting postcards of their home town, then fan out to other interests or areas.  Yet others will narrow their interests because if their specific wants.  As an example, perhaps you find an interest in holidays and soon your collection grows but you find Halloween postcards of special interest because of their colors or the artistic nature of them.  Perhaps, you find a particular artist or photographer that is of interest and focus on it.  Truly, this is a hobby that can take many directions and can be enjoyed by people of all ages.

Where do people find postcards.  Years ago, the source was often flea markets or garage sales where boxes of postcards were found in an attic.  That is still the case but today there are cards available through the internet but perhaps one of the best places to find those special items is a postcard show.   TCPC hosts two annually and for a collector, this is a show not to be missed.

On this website, you'll find photos taken from previous events including postcard shows.  It will give you a feeling of what we offer.  Elsewhere, there is a listing of newsletters that have been printed previously, they often have articles in them that are ageless and interesting today even if written twenty years ago.

You can download a membership flyer here.  It's a PDF file and you'll need a free Adobe Acrobat Reader program to open and print it.  Simply fill it out, attach your check and mail it to our membership chairperson.
